A customer is standing in front of you with three pieces. You put them in the sales basket, take payment by cash, card or both, and hand over a receipt. At the end of the day you count the drawer, and the app tells you whether it is right.
Selling at the counter works in Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. Not yet in France: till software there must be certified, and Vintro Pro is not. You can still create an invoice there.
Go to 🏢 Company settings → 🏢 Your business and check which Country is set. If it is right, the 🧮 Cash-up button appears at the top of the 💰 Sell tab. In another country a short line there explains why not.
Do you need a till system? That depends on your country and your business. Read this first: Does an antiques dealer need a till?
A customer rarely buys one thing. There is one basket, for the counter and for the invoice. What is in it, you also see on your other devices.
Scan the label on the 💰 Sell tab and click 🧺 Add to sales basket. Or tick the rows in your stock and choose 🛠️ Actions → under Other → 🧺 Add the selected rows to the sales basket. Typing a price alone does not put the item in the basket. As soon as there is something in it, the basket appears at the top of 💰 Sell.
The receipt shows the VAT wording for each piece. If the app is not sure which one applies, you choose. Guessing would put the wrong wording on the receipt.
Each piece in the basket has a list with Margin scheme or Standard VAT, and a box for the price. If it says Choose VAT…, you choose. An agreed price, you change here. If you bought the piece at the reduced rate, the margin scheme is not possible. ✕ takes one piece out, Empty basket takes everything out.
At the cash-up the app counts cash and card separately. That is why it asks how the customer paid.
Click 🧮 Check out at the counter. Under Paid by, choose 💶 Cash, 💳 Card or ➗ Split. For cash, type what the customer gave you in Received (optional), and the app shows the Change to give. By card, the customer pays on your own terminal; Vintro Pro only notes that it was by card. For split, fill in one amount and the app puts the rest in the other box. The Sold button only switches on when everything together is exactly the total.
Not every customer wants paper. A receipt by email works too, and the app does not keep the address.
Tick Print and choose the Paper roll: 80 mm or 58 mm. Or tick By email and type the customer’s email address. Both is fine too. The app remembers your choice for the next customer. In the app on your phone, printing does not work on every device; email the receipt instead.
The receipt shows your business and VAT number, the receipt number, the date and time, each piece with its price and VAT wording, the total and how it was paid.
A business customer often wants an invoice in their name. You make it in the same go, not separately afterwards.
Tick Also create an invoice. Fill in the Customer name; the address and the VAT number (optional) can be added. The invoice goes through your own accounting software, as with Make an invoice: the app says which one just above. The invoice number goes on the receipt. Then click Sold.
The pieces are now marked sold and leave the basket. If the invoice fails, the sale and the receipt are still saved. You try the invoice again under 🧮 Cash-up, with 🧾 next to the receipt.
A customer brings something back, or you rang it up wrong? Then the piece needs to be for sale again, and the drawer needs to add up again.
Click 🧮 Cash-up. Under Sales that day you see every receipt. Click Cancel and then Sure? Cancel sale. The whole receipt is cancelled and the pieces are for sale again. In the same place you print a receipt again with 🖨️, email it with 📧, or still add an invoice with 🧾.
At the end of the day you want to know whether the drawer is right. The app works out what should be in it; you count.
Click 🧮 Cash-up. At the top you see Cash, Card and Total for today; with Day you pick another day. Under Count the drawer, fill in the Float at the start (0 is fine). The app already takes the amount from your last cash-up. Should be in the drawer is the float plus the cash sales; card does not go in the drawer. Count the drawer, fill in Counted, and you see straight away ✓ The till is right, or how much is over or short. Click Close the day. Under Earlier cash-ups every day stays listed.
If you cancel a sale after closing, the app tells you the cash-up no longer adds up. Count again and click Close again. The old cash-up stays listed.
What you sell without an invoice also belongs in your accounts. With Odoo you do not have to type it in again.
If your Belgian business has Odoo connected in 🏢 Company settings, Close the day sends one till entry for that day to Odoo, as a draft. It only holds what was sold without an invoice: a receipt with an invoice already goes through that invoice. Your accountant confirms the entry in Odoo. Without Odoo, or in the Netherlands and the UK, no till entry goes along; the app says so after closing.
These pages are free and will stay that way. If you would rather have someone look at your own stock with you, that is available as paid guidance.
Not yet. In France till software must be certified, and Vintro Pro is not. The sales basket and Make an invoice do work there.
For card payments, yes, your own terminal. Vintro Pro does not take payments itself. The app only notes that the customer paid by card, so your cash-up adds up.
No. The address is only used to send that one receipt.
Cancel the receipt under Cash-up. The pieces are then for sale again. Put them back in the sales basket and take payment again.
Yes, which pieces are in it. A price or VAT choice you change in the basket stays on the device where you changed it.
